In the October 14, 2025 story on Standardized zoning for the Broadway and Cambie plans, we reported that the Vancouver Plan will soon become our City’s first Official Development Plan.

Once it has been approved, there will no longer be a public hearing for any rezoning that meets the criteria of the plan. As illustrated in the maps below, the proposed changes would radically alter neighbourhoods throughout the city, including Upper Kitsilano.

We recently learned that the City is hosting a series of Open Houses for neighbours who would like to find out more. These presentations began Tuesday in Kerrisdale, and there are four chances left to attend one. In addition, virtual meetings with the City are also planned.
