Dec 3, 2021: Future of Jericho Lands: “Oakridge-style” development?
West Point Grey residents knew the day the Jericho Lands sold that densification was coming their way. But they didn’t know just how much density, or what shape it would take.
By 2050, the former site of a Canadian army garrison and the Justice Institute will welcome 18,000 new residents to the sea-side enclave that includes residential towers and some lower rise buildings on 10-million sq. ft. Some West Point Grey residents say their voices were not heard during the consultation process with the City, and now fear the area will resemble the likes of the massive Oakridge Town Centre development at 41st and Cambie.
The West Point Grey Residents Association has taken these and other concerns about the Jericho Lands plans to the City. See what the association has to say.
